The third annual Attractions Canada Awards were held in May 2001, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Applicants compete in eight separate categories and must win at the provincial level to move on to the national finals. The contest is designed to recognize the unique character of Canada’s many attractions. The competition aims to promote the quality, success, innovation and diversity of Canada’s attractions, as well as give Canadians the opportunity to learn about their country. Attractions Canada is a national information program designed to raise the interest of Canadians for Canada’s attractions, from all regions of the country, which have cultural or educational value.
